Books Read In 2009

Not as many as the previous year, but that may have had something to do with the fact that I was writing one. Some good stuff never the less.

“Notes Of A Dirty Old Man” - Charles Bukowski

Brilliant and inspired.

“Slaughterhouse Five” - Kurt Vonnegut

“Revolutionary Road” - Richard Yates

One of the best books I’ve read.

“The Reader” - Bernard Schlink

“Blind Faith” - Ben Elton

“The Witch Of Portobello” - Paulo Coelho

“Midnight All Day” - Hanif Kureishi

Fantastic collection of short stories.

“South Of The Border, West Of The Sun” - Haraki Murakami

Wonderful.

“Confessions Of A Pilgrim” - Juan Arias

“Factotum” - Charles Bukowski

“Gods Behaving Badly” - Marie Philips

“Songs Of Innocence, Songs Of Experience” - William Blake

“Hardcore Zen” - Brad Warner

One of the best books to pick up if you want to know more about Buddhism from a man who demystifies many misconceptions.

“Zen Wrapped Up In Karma Dipped In Chocolate” - Brad Warner

“Utopian Dreams” - Tobias Jones

“Women” - Charles Bukowski

Fantastic. Takes you on a narrative that has as much cohesion as it does nonsense.

“Success” - Martin Amis

“A Heart Shaped Bullet” - Kathryn Flett

“In Between The Sheets” - Ian McEwan

“Lolita” - Vladimir Nabokov

Creepier than I thought possible.

“Palm Sunday” - Kurt Vonnegut

Good for Vonnegut fans.

“The Death Of Bunny Munro” - Nick Cave

Well written and gripping.

As for films, the best new film I saw was either "Up" or "Antichrist". Oh, and this music video didn't get nearly enough attention...
